We are saved by Grace through the blood of Yeshua (Jesus) that washed away our sin and reconciled us with Father (the God of Abraham, Isack and Jacob)

  • Rom 3:21-25 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it - the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
  • Eph 2:4-9 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (ESV)

We are not under the Law; we obey the commandments(instructions) because we love (know) HIM

  • Joh 14:21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
  • 1Jn 2:3-6 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. (ESV)
  • 1Jn 5:2-4 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (ESV)
  • 2Jn 1:4-6 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. And now I ask you, dear lady — not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning — that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
Rom 6:14-15 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! (ESV)

We keep the Shabbat.

  • Lev 23:1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, speak to the people of Israel and say to them, these are the appointed feasts of the LORD that you shall proclaim as holy convocations; they are My appointed feasts. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the LORD in all your dwelling places.
  • Mrk 2:27-28 And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
  • Mrk 6:2 And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands?
  • Luk 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
  • Act 13:42 As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath.
  • Act 15:21 For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.
  • Act 16:13 And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to the riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together.
  • Act 17:2-3 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”
  • Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks.

The Sabbath was kept throughout the lives of the Apostles. In 326 Constantine declared at the counsel of Nicene that it must move to Sunday (First day of the week) There is however record of Asian Minor where Sabbath was kept till 500. Believers started to do Sunday because they were persecuted if they kept Sabbath.

We need to do what Jesus (Yeshua) did, not what was dictated by men. (Traditions of Men)

We obey and teach others to obey the law because we are commanded too.

  • Mat 5:17-19 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (ESV)
  • Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
  • Act 15:20-21 but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood. For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.

Transgression of the Law (Torah) is sin(lawlessness).

  • Mat_7:23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
  • Mat_23:28 So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
  • Mat_24:12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.
  • Rom_6:19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
  • 1Jn 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
